As part of our Acsys Rural health initiative, UWC partnered with Iniya Udiayam Trust to reach the rural pockets of Kanchipuram to initiate conversations around menstruation and break the stigma and taboos around it. In our recent visit, 110 enthusiastic women of Perunagar, Kanchipuram district participated in a #MenstrualHealth awareness program. The session covered various aspects of menstrual health, hygiene, and sexual health. At the end of the session, they also received reusable clothpads, which would reduce them the financial burden of ~300 rupees every month.
