United Way of Chennai (UWC) envisions a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability, and healthy lives. This Daan Utsav, United Way of Chennai introduces Thoduvaanam 2023, an initiative to support grassroot organizations in realizing their dreams. Thoduvaanam means Horizon. Our Thoduvaanam 2023 signifies our interest in enabling grassroot organizations to touch the horizon while staying true to their communities.

ELIGIBILiTY CRITERIA
12A & 80G certified organizations
Should be working within the boundaries of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry
Organizations with a 3-year average donation amount of up to Rs 1 Crore are eligible for a Rs 5 lakh grant
Organizations with a 3-year average donation amount ranging from Rs 1 Crore to 3 Crore are eligible for a Rs 10 lakh grant
Organizations run by family members of UWC team members are not eligible to apply for the grant
Organizations working with women’s groups, trans persons, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply

We’d love to support you, but we do need some essential documents to ensure compliance. To apply for the grant, please make sure you have your Registration Certificate, 80G, 12A certificate, and PAN Card ready. These documents help us make sure everything is on the right track!
We’ve tried to make it easy: if your average donation is less than or equal to 1 Crore, it’s 5 lakh, and if it’s more than 1 Crore but less than 3 Crore, it’s 10 lakh.
We appreciate your enthusiasm! However, we kindly ask that your proposal doesn’t exceed the grant prize amount applicable to your eligibility. It helps us keep everything fair and manageable for everyone.
You have flexibility here! We encourage organizations to apply in the area where they excel. Feel free to choose any vertical that aligns with your strengths and passion.

The duration of your project is entirely up to you! Make sure it fits the goals and objectives of the program you’re applying for.
Your organization can work with communities in urban, semi-urban, rural, and even remote areas within Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry.
You may submit 1 to 3 applications with different verticals such as Environment, Education, Livelihood, and so on.
