United Way Chennai, along with implementing partner Waterlife India and with support from its corporate partner has set-up a community drinking water supply plant in Tambaram. The plant was inaugurated today (September 24th, 2018 – Monday) in the presence of the community.
The plant has been built within the premises of the Municipal Higher Secondary School, Selaiyur and will serve a population of more than 500 people belonging to low and middle income families residing in the area.The plant was built in 3 months at a total cost of 35 lakhs.

On the occasion of United Way’s Day of Action, celebrated on 21st June every year, United Way Chennai hosted a one-of-its-kind campaign ‘Know My Ability’, an action based workshop by persons with disabilities.
On June 21st, persons with intellectual disabilities conducted training sessions in a myriad of skills including yoga, paper bag making, jewellery making, garland making, clay modelling, diya painting, art therapy and art out of waste, at corporate companies across the city.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day and United Way’s Day of Action, celebrated on 21st June every year, United Way Chennai will host a one-of-its-kind initiative titled ‘Know My Ability’, an action based workshop by persons with disabilities.
Through this initiative, persons with intellectual disabilities will conduct yoga training sessions at corporate companies across the city.
This is an attempt to showcase the talents of people with disabilities who are generally defined only by their disability. This initiative aims to reiterate that they have a lot to offer in terms of skills and abilities.
