An important goal of United Way Chennai is to promote the culture of giving in the city. We provide unique and innovative volunteering opportunities for different sections of the community. We believe that everyone can give and anyone who wishes to give should be given an opportunity to do so. This year, thousands of volunteers gave their time and supported causes that were close to their heart.
Budget Meet is South India’s biggest post budget analysis conducted annually after the Union Budget is launched. During this event, leading finance stalwarts, fund managers and industry experts analyse issues such as macroeconomic policy, investment strategy and capital markets. Notable speakers at the event in the past have been Mr.P.Chidambaram, Arvind Datar, Smt. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Dr.C.Rangarajan and Parthasarathi Shome.
Using the funds raised during Budget Meet in the past years, United Way Chennai has transformed around 6 lakh lives across Tamilnadu in areas of education, health and sanitation, disability, environment, income and livelihood.
Battle of the Buffet is Chennai’s largest fundraising event where hundreds of NGOs participate to raise funds for their causes. This is held every year as part of Daan Utsav, the Joy of Giving week in October. In 2018, we raised about 2 crores to support 36 NGOs. The projects are currently underway.
